Irish Soprano Helene Hutchinson is currently based in Dublin. Originally from Dungannon in Co. Tyrone, she was raised in Dundrum Dublin, and later spent several years residing in Drogheda Co. Louth. She has become a very popular performer selling out several solo concerts over the last few years.

Formerly a scholarship student at the DIT Conservatory of Music And Drama under the tutelage  Edith Forrest, Colette McGahon-Tosh and repetiteurs Alison Young, Mary Scarlett and Aoife O'Sullivan, she recieved distinction in the Trinity London Guildhall performance diplomas ATCL and LTCL.

Helene is winner of many awards and bursaries, including the Soprano Solo Cup, Percy Whitehead Cup and Cait Langan Lieder bursary at Feis Ceoil, the Overall Vocal Award and RTÉ Lyric FM Bursary at Sligo Feis Ceoil, the Dermot Troy Trophy for Mozart at DIT, Interpretation and Oratorio Cups at Ballymena Festival, and the John McCormack Socitey Bursary. As a child, she was a student of the late Daniel McNulty and a member of the Austin Singers. She has appeared as guest soloist with many choirs including Setanta Choir, Cloughmore Male Voice Choir, St. Peters Male Voice Choir, Seafield Singers and Bohemians’ Male Voice Group. Helene has also given recitals at the Boyle Arts Festival, National Gallery Dublin, Freemasons Hall, Castletown House, Flat Fake Festival, Nighthawks at the Cobalt Cafe and with Jade Strings Harp and Cello duo, plus several live performances for RTÉ Radio 1.

With both the Irish Independent newspaper and the Dublin Book Club Festival Review referring to Helene’s performances as "outstanding" (Irish Independent) and "exquisite" (Dublin Book Club Review) she is fast becoming in greater demand on both the operatic and recital stage. Previous operatic performances have included Frasquita in Bizet’s Carmen (Glastule Opera), Donna Anna in Mozart's Don Giovanni (DIT Opera Scenes), Pamina in The Magic Flute (DIT) in addition to chorus roles with Lyric Opera, Opera Ireland and Glastule Opera, plus performing in a lunch time recital for Opera Theatre Company. In November, she played the role of Andrea in the Irish premiere of Jerry Springer the Opera at the Grand Canal Theatre. On the oratorio platform, she has performed as soloist in Handel's Messiah, Dixit Dominus and Pergolesi’s Stabat Mater and Haydn's Stabat Mater. Following several successful solo recitals in Summer 2012, Helene performed the role of Barbarina in Glasthule Opera's production of Le Nozze di Figaro, and was a leading soloist their Gala Concert featuring the music of Verdi. She has performed in touring productions of Carmen and The Elixir of Love for Opera Theatre Company.
